Additional Playing Opportunities

CCSSL Additional Playing Opportunities

The CCSSL recognizes that our members are interested in playing and practicing beyond formal league play.  In response, several opportunities exist for players to play more often.

2022 Fall Ball

The Cape Cod Senior Softball League is once again setting up a fall league that will play Saturday mornings.

The format will be very similar to last year. Fall Ball is very informal with the emphasis on having fun. The player fee is $30.00 and must be paid at time of online registration. We hope to play ten (10) Saturdays and each player will receive a long sleeve tee shirt with the team color. The registration deadline is Wednesday, AUGUST 31st.

Keith Fluker will have teams at Sandy Pond Field made up of mostly Div 1 and some Div 2 players.

Potter and Memorial Fields will have teams made up of Div 2,3 & 4.

Informal Practice

Weather permitting, informal practice is held on Tuesday, Thursday mornings in Harwich beginning at 10 a.m.  These sessions are open and free to veteran and new Cape Cod Senior Softball players.  Practice sessions consist of batting practice and an occasional pick-up game as numbers allow.

No sign-up is required.  Just show up and hit!

Masters Division

The new season for our Masters Division will begin on Tuesday, April 19th.  Practice will begin around 9:15 and our first game will be ~ 10:00.  For those not familiar with the Masters Division, it is the league’s only informal recreational group.  We play at Kelly 1 (there are 2 fields) in Dennis, just off of the mid-cape and route 134 near the Dennis Police Department.  No advance signup is ever needed; just show up.  Masters was created for those who did not want to commit to playing for a team with a fixed schedule, or for those players who wanted some extra practice at hitting or fielding on those days their team was not scheduled to play.  Players in one of the 4 divisions also come when recovering from an injury as a way to gradually get back in shape.  The emphasis is always about having fun and enjoying the game and, while we keep score, nobody seems to care who wins.  Even if you aren’t sure Masters is for you, come down any Tuesday or Thursday during the regular season and see if this is for you!  And remember, opening day is Tuesday, April 19.”
