Cape Cod Senior Softball League

We are close to launching the 2023 CCSSL season.  I want to update you on our plans for this year.

We plan to start the season with practice games during the weeks of May 8 and 15.  Our regular season will begin on May 22 and conclude during the week of August 14.  We will schedule a double elimination tournament for the last 2 weeks of August.

At this point we expect to have 22 teams plus a group of pool and recreation players.  We are planning to field 6 teams in the Cassidy and Simpson Divisions and 5 teams in the Winnett and Rose Divisions.  We have over 50 new players that will participate in evaluation sessions later this month.  These new players and the returning player registrants will determine the final number of teams in each Division.

We will use the same process that we did last year for team selections.  The Division Presidents will organize meetings with their managers to “draft” players, starting with the Cassidy Division.  Players selected for our teams will be notified by their manager after those sessions.

We intend to field competitive players and teams in all 4 of our divisions.  To do this, we may ask you to play in a different division than the one you preferred when you applied to play.  Please stay flexible as we set up these teams in late April and early May.

We are developing schedules for the Cassidy and Winnett Divisions to play primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays; the Simpson and Rose Division games will be primarily on Mondays and Wednesdays.  That will give us the ability to recruit players that are “off” on a day as pool players in the neighboring Divisions.
